NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--It's been quite the season for Smith College's
Kirsten Silfvenius. The junior has set a new school record in the 100 meter hurdles, captured the ECAC Championship in the 400 hurdles, and is en route to the NCAA Division III Championships in Claremont, Calif. Silfvenius and her head coach,
Carla Coffey, sat down for an interview ahead of their trip.

All of these and more highlight the inductees in the inaugural class of the Smith College Pioneer Athletic Hall of Fame. The 12 individuals and one team that make up the class will be officially inducted in a gala to be held at the Smith College Alumnae House on October 20, 2012.

Kirsten Silfvenius will continue her amazing spring season, with the official announcement of her qualification to the NCAA Division III Championships this morning. The championship will take place at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College, in Claremont, Calif., on May 24-26.

TROY, N.Y.--The record setting season for Smith College's
Kirsten Silfvenius continues. A week after setting a new school record in the 100 meter hurdles, Silfvenius became Smith's first ever ECAC champion, winning the 400 meter hurdles in 62.27 seconds at the ECAC Championships held at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday.
